Sex:Taboos Sex has long been one of the most taboo and intriguing elements captured on film but also has been subject to censorship, protest and social mores. From Sex, Lies and Videotape to Chuck and Buck, John Waters to David Cronenberg, INDIE SEX: TABOOS (IFC, 2001) examines how independent films have provided a forum to explore our deepest and darkest sexual fantasies, played out on the big screen. The one-hour documentary explores the shifting perspectives of sex in film, beginning with the sexual revolution of the 1960s to darker representations of the 80s and 90s. Indie directors who are featured include veterans John Waters, David Lynch, David Cronenberg and Atom Egoyan to newer filmmakers such as David O. Russell and Todd Solondz.
